The Bureau of Meteorolog y is Australia's national weather, climate and water agency. Its expertise and services assist Australians in dealing with the harsh realities of their natural environment, including droughts, floods, fires, storms, tsunami and tropical cyclones. Through regular forecasts, warnings, monitoring and advice spanning the Australian region and Antarctic territory, the Bureau provides one of the fundamental and most widely used services of government.

The Bureau contributes to national social, economic, cultural and environmental goals by providing observational, meteorological, hydrological and oceanographic services and by undertaking research into science and environment related issues in support of its operations and services.

We are potentially seeking hydrologists to join the Climate and Water Division, offering exciting opportunities for people who would like to shape Australia’s water information future. The positions are located in Melbourne or Canberra.

The successful applicants for these positions will be qualified hydrologists or engineers with an interest in further developing their skills in hydrology and assessment of water resources.
As a member of a team you will be providing water information services for the benefit of the Australian community.

The ideal candidate will be have a passion for water resources assessment, be enthusiastic about developing their professional skills, operate effectively in high performing teams, be able to communicate clearly with a range of people, and be service delivery focused.
