At The Bird Walk in Canberra you can explore the 1000 square metre aviary with around 500 bird species, 100 parrots and approximately 80 finches and many more Australian birds, ensuring the nine-metre high aviary is aflight with colour.
Some of the birds have been hand reared and are friendly and adjusted to humans enough to sit on your hand and be fed with a piece of apple given to visitors upon entry.
If you arrive at opening and closing times, you will be able to observe all the birds being fed.
The aviary is a natural haven, filled with trees, shrubs and flowers and is open throughout the year except when it is very wet or hot.
