The National Film and Sound Archive is the nation's audiovisual archive to preserve, communicate and make meaning about the culture of the nation from Australia's history of film and sound.

Come to the National Film and Sound Archive to experience some of the most prominent film and sound recordings in Australia. Australia's moving images and sound recordings that have been archived include classic films such as Strictly Ballroom, Shine, Muriel's Wedding, artists such as John Farnham, Yothu Yindi and today's Top 40 Hits.

When you're at the archive in Canberra, you can view footage of television productions, listen to recordings of radio productions and screenings of great Australian films through exhibitions, live presentations, educational programs and travelling shows.

You can also utilise the National Film and Sound Archive's services and borrow material such as 16mm prints, DVDs and videos through the National Film and Video Lending Service.
