ANZAC Day Dawn Service

Where: Australian War Memorial

When: 25 April 2009

The ANZAC Day Dawn Service held at the Australian War Memorial is a time to remember Australians who served and died in all wars and peacekeeping operations.

Courage, mateship and sacrifice are the key human qualities that ANZAC represents and Canberra hosts both the Dawn Service and the National ANZAC Day Ceremony.

The Anzac Day service begins with the Dawn Service at 5.30am and lasts half an hour. Once the Dawn Service finishes, the Australian War Memorial Commemorative Area becomes open to the public.

The national Anzac Day ceremony starts around 10.15am and finishes around midday.
