The Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) is located in Bruce, Canberra in the Australian Capital Territory. The AIS is known in Australia and internationally as a world-leading model for growing elite athletes.

With 35 sport programs in 26 sports, the AIS has some of the best facilities and support services globally.

Find out how to become an elite athlete on a behind-the-scenes tour of the AIS led by one of the institute's elite athletes. Families, the general public and school groups are all able to experience the prestigious sport school.

Tours depart daily at 10am, 11.30am, 1pm and 2.30pm and run for 90 minutes. Costs apply and discounts are available for schools and other groups.

The AIS holds the popular Swim and Fitness at the AIS program that offers fun ways to keep physically active and fit. Its facilities such as a 50m and 25m pool, fully-equipped gym and tennis courts are available to everyone.

You can also participate in Swim School, an Australian learn-to-swim program open to all ages. The Fitness Centre is also available to the public and has the latest fitness equipment, experienced personal trainers and fitness classes such as boxafit and the AIS Mission: Impossible boot camp as well as Pilates and yoga.

AIS is also proud to boast its School Holiday programs such as the Sports Vacation and Holiday Intensive Swimming programs, and Soccer Camp.
